My review:  5 stars!!!

Okay, so I love, love, love H.M. Ward (I did a Meet the Author blog here).  Anything and everything this lady writes is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

You have to read the first book in this series, before you read this one.  Also, this series connects with another series by H.M. Ward called The Arrangement (there are currently 7 books in that series, she is working on #8) and her new series called Stripped.  The series relate to brothers.  One in each series.

Damaged 2 is so funny!!  I was laughing until I was in tears, literally.  Sidney gets herself in to some situations that only she can do.  In the first book, she was attacked by a squirrel in a restaurant.  In this book, she adopts a turkey vulture.  Let's just say, I'm not sure where Ms. Ward comes up with this stuff, but it rocks!!!  I could not quit laughing.  Who would have thought that a bird was so funny.  LOL

More than that though, Sidney has experienced a great tragedy in her life and her childhood was taken from her way too early.  And Peter lost everything he once had and thought he ever wanted.  They lean on each other, through it all, and come out better for it in the end.

This book was everything I expected it to be, and it lived up to my expectations.  You hit another #1 bestseller Ms. Ward.  Congrats!!  I am anxiously awaiting The Arrangement 8 and Stripped.

Off the Record by Sawyer Bennett

Off the Record by Sawyer Bennett
(Off Series #3)

Book Synopsis:  The sparks of dislike burn hot, but the sparks of mutual attraction burn even hotter.

Ever Montgomery suffered the ultimate betrayal by the one man who she should have been able to count on for anything. It has left her hurt, jaded and incapable of forming relationships, but it also means that she can spot a liar a mile away. These traits are earning her a reputation as a reporter with a keen nose for a good story and a complete understanding of the extreme power of the written word.

Lincoln Caldwell, is the hot goalie for the New York Rangers. At twenty-four and a rising star, he works hard and he plays even harder. He’s gorgeous and carefree—the ultimate charmer. Ladies fall at his feet and the single life has never been lived the way Linc Caldwell does it.

When Ever publishes an article about Linc containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the athlete’s fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.

And she just might find that she has misjudged him.

My review:  5 stars!!

I loved this book.  Although, before I go any further, you should read these in order.  You don't have too and you won't ruin the story, but each book is about a couple, and the couples are mentioned in the other books.  So, go read the first two before reading this one.

I loved Linc from the other books.  I'm glad he got his own book!!  He is such a good guy.  I'm glad he got a chance to prove Ever wrong and teach her how to love again!

All three of the books in this series are good!!  Go read them all.

Savor You by Emily Snow

Savor You by Emily Snow
(Savor Us #1)

Book Synopsis:  Kylie Wolfe and guitarist Wyatt McCrae have been bad for each other for the last several years, but it’s impossible for them to end their toxic push and pull. Not when their attraction is constantly fueled by lust and proximity—she’s her older brother’s Lucas’s assistant and Wyatt is his best friend and band mate.

So when Your Toxic Sequel makes a move to record a new album in Nashville, Kylie decides to make the latest break with Wyatt official by getting the hell out of town. She’ll spend a week in New Orleans. A week to immerse herself in the Mardi Gras scene. One week to not think about the last time she was in New Orleans, seven years ago with Wyatt. Seven days where she won’t have to see Wyatt every day just to fall ridiculously in love with him all over again—where, if she wants to, she can have a normal, no-strings attached fling that won’t end in heartbreak.

Too bad Wyatt ruins everything by showing up, as gorgeous and demanding and goddamn awful for her as ever.

Wyatt refuses to let Kylie give up on him. Not without reminding her why they both fell so far and hard in the first place. Not without making her savor the good memories and what could be their last chance with each other.

Note: This is a spinoff from the Devoured series.

________________________________________________________________________

My review:  4 stars!!!

As stated above, this books is a spinoff of the Devoured series.  Now, if you haven't read that series, I would not recommend you read this book.  This is is written during the same time as the Devoured series, and this books refers to things that happened in the Devoured books.  So, you should read that series first.

I loved Kylie in the Devoured series.  She's a firecracker.  She's not afraid to yell at her rock star brother, but she's sweet too.  She helped her brother and stood behind Sierra.  She has a big heart.

This series is about Kylie (I'm not sure about the second book in this series), but this book is all about Kylie.  I feel in love with Kylie more in this book.  She's a little messed up and she has some problems, she has no idea what she wants.  But, in the end it all works out for her.  She deserves the best.  She's a great girl!!!

I gave the book 4 stars because, despite it being a great book, there are many unanswered questions.  Maybe Emily Snow will answer those questions in the next book, maybe not.  But, there's a story behind all the blackbirds Kylie has tattooed on her body.  You never know the stories, except for maybe one of them.  What is the rest of the story?  What has happened between her and Wyatt all these years?  Why are they the way they are?  So, many questions.

All in all, this was a great book.  And I am definitely sitting on the edge of my seat awaiting the second book in this series.  So, time will tell where Ms. Snow decides to take this series.  I'm sure all the questions will be answered, I am a huge fan of Emily Snow.

On to the next book ....

Sometimes Never Series by Cheryl McIntyre

Sometimes Never by Cheryl McIntyre
(Sometimes Never #1)

Book Synopsis:  Hope didn't have the best role model when it came to relationships. She’s content with her current no-strings-attached extracurricular activity with the lead singer of her band. She’s never believed in love and commitment.

Mason starts his eighth school in five years anticipating nothing more than the usual—boring classes, fighting more than making friends, and girls happily willing to succumb to his easy smile. He’s never put much stock into love at first sight—until he sees her.

Regardless of their painful pasts, Hope and Mason discover that sometimes never can become forever.
_______________________________________________________________________

Blackbird by Cheryl McIntyre
(Sometimes Never #1.5)

Book Synopsis:  "Sometimes never is a distorted perception. I love you, Hope. And I'm not the only one. I know you care about me. I see it in your eyes. I feel it. Everybody needs love. Everybody. And some people need it more than others. You're a liar if you say you don't. I'll do that for you. I'll love you. All you have to do is let me." –Sometimes Never

What happened in the years between the final chapter and epilogue of Sometimes Never? Blackbird is an 18,000+ word novella that continues Mason and Hope's story as they finish high school, start separate colleges, and confront their demons.

Though Blackbird can be read on its own, it is better enjoyed after reading Sometimes Never. Recommended for 17+ due to harsh language and some sexual situations.
_______________________________________________________________________

Before Now by Cheryl McIntyre
(Sometimes Never #2)

Book Synopsis:
Park Reed is a bastard in every sense of the word. He hasn't always been this way. But after his heart was broken by the only girl he ever loved, being heartless gets him through the day and allows him to fill his nights with the nameless girls he has no intentions of seeing again. He now lives his life following his ever-growing list of “life lessons.”

Lucy Braden is everything Park is not. She’s sweet, caring, and an all-around nice person. She tries to follow Lucy's Rules to Live By everyday.

When Park moves in with Jessie, which happens to be the floor below Lucy, Jessie's one stipulation: Lucy is off limits to Park. The problem with that is Lucy is determined to be a good friend to Park and see past the drinking and random girls to find the man beneath it all. The other problem: Park follows his own rules.

*This is a New Adult novel. Recommended for 17+ due to sexual situations, harsh language, and drug and alcohol use.

Before Now is a companion novel to Sometimes Never, and many of its characters are in Park’s story. However, it can be read as a stand-alone book.
_______________________________________________________________________

My review:  5 stars!!!

I loved this series.  And although, the book synopsis says you read read the books as a stand-alone, I recommend you read them in order.   Blackbird is short novella about Hope and Mason, from the first book.  And Before Now is about Park, he is from the first book too.  All the same characters appear in all three books and there is a definite sequence involved with the books.  So, read them  in the order listed above, all three books will make more sense in the long run.

All three books are great!!  I loved Hope from the first book and then I loved Lucy from the second book.  They are as different as different can be.  You will love them both too, but for very different reasons.  These books are happy ending, feel good books.  You will enjoy them as much as I did.  (I actually re-read the first book and the novella, before reading the second book.)  I fell in love with the characters all over again.  I couldn't help it!!

Happy reading.

Tie Me by Olivia Cunning

My review:  4 stars!!!

While I really liked this book and I love this series . . . this book was harder to read than the others.  I know the series relates to "One Night with Sole Regret," however, the others books did not just take place over one night.  It might have been one night that changes their lives, but the book was over a very short period of time (a few days to a week or so).  This book is literally one night.  The night just seemed to drag on a bit.  Believe me, I was an extraordinary night, lol.  But, I wish there had been more to the story in this book.  (I know the story continues.)

Each book is about a member of the band.  The books do not end, in fact, the author is writing a series about each member (3 books per band member).  So, I knew what to expect, since I have read the other 4 books.

I love the story of Kellen, sometimes I want to choke him to death and knock some sense into him, but I love him nonetheless.  I can't wait to read what happens next with Kellen and Dawn, stay tuned for their next chapter.

P.S.:  You have to read this series in order.  The books are written in such a way that you have to read one, before you move on to the others.  When reading this series, just make sure you are on the right number before continuing.

P.S.S.:  I did a "Meet the Author" blog about Olivia Cunning (click here) to see it, and I list the books in order.  We are only up to 5.

My review:  5 stars!!!

I loved this whole series!!  I'm glad that Abbi Glines decided to write more books with this series and then take characters from this series and write a series about.  The books just keep coming!!  I really enjoyed all three of these books.  I had to re-read the first two books and I just finished this last book today.  And it didn't take me long at all!!  They are fun, cute and easy books to read.  I recommend them to everyone.

You definitely have to read them in order though.  Make sure you read them in the order listed above.  They are definitely written in a very specific order.

Abbi Glines is a great author.  She has lots of other books, and I can't wait to read them.

On to the next book . . .

The Dark Duet by C.J. Roberts

Captive in the Dark by C.J. Roberts
(Book #1)

Book Synopsis:  Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.
________________________________________________________________________________

Seduced in the Dark by C.J. Roberts
(Book #2)

Book Synopsis:  The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.  What is the price of redemption?  Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.  The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.  Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?  Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?

Quote:
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.
_______________________________________________________________

Epilogue:  The Dark Duet by C.J. Roberts
(Book #3 - Novella)
(The final version should have 15 Chapters + an epilogue)

Book Synopsis:  I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well.  Who am I?  Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves.  She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it?  Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own.  You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again.  It didn’t happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

My review:  5 stars!!!

Now, I said I wasn't going to review this series, because of the graphic nature of the books.  However, I feel like I would be doing the readers a disservice.  I want to share this series and my experience with you.  Just a warning . . . like those posted above in red.  This series is not a happy, funny, loving, happy ending kind of series.  It's dirty, graphic and slightly disturbing at times.  But, you will be hooked by the first page and you will not be able to put it down!!

So, after reading the first book, I just stared at my Kindle, literally.  I had no words.  I didn't know what to say, what to think, or how to feel.  My boyfriend was sitting next to me on the couch, and saw me staring at my Kindle and he asked, "Are you alright?"  My reply was, "I don't know."  And I honestly didn't know.  I couldn't explain what I was feeling and I didn't want to like the book.  I didn't want to like the book at all.  But, I did.

In fact, I loved the book.  It has been one of the best books I have ever read!!  I mean that with all honesty too.  I couldn't wait to the the second book and I couldn't wait for the Epilogue to come out.  I have read all three books for a second time, and they are just as good as the first time!!

C.J. Roberts is now one of my favorite authors.  She makes you feel what the characters are feeling.  She takes you to a very dark and scary place, but you love it.  You are drawn and pulled to it.  And the whole time, you are enraptured by this series.

If you read it, I hope enjoy it as much as I did.  If you read it and do not like it, I'm sorry I lead you astray!!

Let the crazy nonsensical chasing begin.

**DISCLAIMER**  Again, this book in not suitable for young audience.

My review:  5 stars!!!

I loved this book.  Drama and lots of it.  There were several unexpected events and a couple of crazy people!!  And of course, this book ended with yet another cliffhanger.  There is a third book, I think it's supposed to be released at the end of this month, maybe the 30th.  I cannot wait for that book.  This one was definitely a page turner and I love Blake even more than before.  There are still a few people I want to yell at and tell them to just give in to love already!!  But, I'm sure there will be more to that drama story in the third book.

I will be waiting, no so patiently, for the third book.  Ugh!!  Cliffhangers kill me!!!

On to the next story . . .

Chasing Beautiful by Pamela Ann

Chasing Beautiful (Chasing Series #1) by Pamela Ann

Book Synopsis:  What would you do if you had two hot men fight over you? Sienna Richards decided to study and pursue her dreams in London. Life was starting to look up when out of nowhere, her boyfriend Kyle decided to end things. She vowed never to love again. But what she didn't see coming was the revelation of feelings her friend Blake had in store for her. Blake a handsome British mogul-in-training and a good friend who’s been lusting after her since they met or Kyle—childhood best friend, high school sweetheart, and her first love—but broke her heart. This is Sienna’s journey in finding herself and learning about forgiveness, heartaches and most of all, love.

My review:  4 stars!!!

This book turned out great!!  I like books that hook you from the very first page or at the very least, the very first chapter.  This book took a few chapters to get going.  At first I was confused and not really sure where the author was going.  After a few chapters, it picked up, and then I couldn't put it down.

**DISCLAIMER**
Now, I'm just warning you, this book is not suitable for a young audience.  Just warning you.

Once this book got going, I really couldn't put it down.  It was such a good and fast read.  I loved it.  I wish I had a Blake in my life!!  I ends on a cliffhanger though, so make sure you have the second book ready.

Now the author, Pamela Ann, wrote a Novella (The Chasing Diaries) after this book.  She said to read it after you have read the first book, but I think I would have been better off reading it first.  It think it would have helped me with the first few chapters in Chasing Beautiful.  So, here is my suggestion, read the Novella first, then read Chasing Beautiful.  I think the books will make much more sense.

Okay, on the second book.  Review coming soon!!

My review:  5 stars!!!

I love, love, loved this book.  I literally could not put the book down.  I actually bought and finished this book in one day!!  It was such a good book.  This book picks up where the first book ends.  It's a seamless transition, which is a relief.  Sometimes authors feel like they have to "relive" the first book when writing a sequel.  This one is not like that.

This book had me hooked from the very first page.  I couldn't wait to find out what happens with Laurelyn and Jack Henry.  There were lots of twists and turns and the book kept you guessing.  It was definitely exciting!!!

At the end of this book there is a blurb about the series.  The author says that she wrote this book as the end.  It ends great!!  But she did say that she is writing (or considering to write) and novella to accompany this series.  I think that's a good idea, because there are a few things you are left to wonder.

I have to admit, I read a lot of books and this is one of my favorites!!  I really enjoyed reading this series and can't believe it ended already.  It was over before I knew it.

Thank you Ms. Georgia Cates!!  I will keep an eye out for your books.  You are a great writer and I can't wait to see what comes next!!
