My review:  5 stars!!!

I have literally loved every book from Sawyer Bennett.  She takes real life situations and turns them into fantastic books.  I adore her writing.  She is amazing.

All the books are connected, in that, the boys in the books are related, i.e. brothers, cousins, etc.  So, you see the same characters over and over again.  You get to see them from different points of view and I love hearing about a couple after I've finished their book.  I like that the books are connected in that way.  It makes it more real!!

This book is about Flynn.  Flynn had a bad experience in his past and he is out to save the world.  Or die trying.  Because of his past, he decides to be a New York firefighter.  He tasks risks and sometimes unnecessarily puts himself and others in danger.  His chief gets upset at him on a regular basis.  However, he feels like the risks are necessary to save lives and he continues to do them against the wishes of his co-workers and boss.  During one such risky fire, he breaks a window and rescues a woman.  Her dog does not like Flynn in uniform with the mask on, so he takes it off, which is very risky.  Then he finds the woman chained to the bed and drugged.  WTF?!?!  Yeah, that's what I thought.

Rowan has a hidden past.  She moved away from home changed her name (not legally of course), but she wanted to start over.  So, she moved to New York.  She lived on the street, then got mixed up with the wrong crowd.  She tried to leave to boyfriend, Juice (what kind of a name is that?!?!), and he caught her and chained her to the bed.  Who does that?!?!

Flynn first saves her life by getting her out of the burning house.  Then he saves her by helping her out.  Then he saves her in so many more ways.  Flynn is a great guy.  He loves with his whole heart and Rowan is just not willing to let herself fall in love.  She's scared to get go.

I cried in this book.  I was heartbroken at one point and I felt such a strong connection to the characters that I felt I was going through this with them.  Such a strong and powerful message.  It moved me to tears, literally.  I loved it so much!!

Go get it.  Or if you haven't read the other books by Sawyer Bennett, go get them first.  Read them in order, you will not be disappointed, I promise.  Great books!!

Happy reading!

Long After by Cheryl McIntyre
(Sometimes Never #3)

Book Synposis:  For Annie Phillips, there is a right way to do things and everything has a place. College and her flawless GPA are top priority, as is planning her perfect future. Anything less than perfection is unacceptable. So when she meets Loden Guiles, she believes she has finally found her perfect happily-ever-after.

Knowing his best friend’s step-sister since they were fourteen, Annie and he have always had a love-hate relationship. The last thing Chase expects is to fall for Annie, but he knows he’ll never live up to her idea of the perfect man.

On the outside, Annie and Loden’s relationship appears picture perfect. But behind closed doors, Annie quickly realizes Loden isn’t the man he pretends to be. Every time her not so well laid plans crumble, and Loden proves to be not so Mr. Right, Chase is there to pick her up and brush her off. Will she realize the perfection she’s been searching for has been in front of her all this time?

*Long After is a companion novel to Sometimes Never and Before Now. Many of the same characters appear in Chase and Annie's story. However, it can be read as a stand-alone book.

**This is a new adult novel. Due to harsh language, sexual situations, and violence, this book is recommended for 17+.

My review:  5 stars!!!

Okay.  Let me start by saying, this book is the third book in a series.  Each book in the series is about a "couple."    The first one was about Hope and Mason, the next book was a novella about Hope and Mason, the second book was about Park and Lucy.  Now this third book is about Annie and Chase.  You first learn about Annie and Chase in the first book.

Annie is Hope's foster parents daughter.  It's a really weird situation, as is all marriages these days!!

Anyways, you learn in the first book that Annie is not very nice.  Hope still stands up for her and defends her (which is why Mason notices Hope and falls in love).  Even though Annie is not nice to Hope, or really anyone for that matter.

Chase is friends with Hope and Park.  (I believe he was part of the band, but I can't remember exactly).  Annie and Chase fight a lot.  Everyone hates being around them because they are always fighting with each other and it drives everyone crazy.

Skip forward a couple of years and Annie and Chase are now in college.  They are actually friends now.  They still fight, but that's just what friends do.  Annie is a hot mess.  She has this perfect life planned out and she has a check-list for life.  The man she dates has to have certain qualities before she can consider dating him.  Well, then she meets Loden.  He checks all her boxes.  She falls for him pretty quickly.  He's perfect after all . . . until one day he's not.  He starts getting super abusive, possessive and controlling.

Chase is Annie's best friend.  He watches as she changes while dating Loden.  He doesn't like Loden for several reasons.  Chase is there for Annie every step of the way.  Every time Loden does something to Annie, Chase is there to pick her up and put the pieces back together.  Long story short . . . Chase ends up finding Annie on the floor with Loden's hands around her neck.  He is trying to kill her.  She left him and Loden doesn't get left.  Chase defends her and just about kills Loden.  He was there for Annie, he saved her life, literally.

What happens next . . . go get the book and read all about it!!

Happy reading!!

The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen

The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen
(The Secret #3)

Book Synopsis:  From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Ella and Micha series comes a gripping story of passion, pain, and the courage to love ...
On the surface, Lila Summers is flawless: good looks, expensive clothes, and a big, beautiful smile. But a dark past and even darker secrets are threatening to bubble over her perfect facade. She'll do anything to keep the emptiness inside hidden-which leads her into situations that always end badly. Whenever she hits bottom, there's only one person who's there to pull her out: Ethan Gregory.

Ethan set the rules a long time ago: he and Lila are just friends. He doesn't do relationships. Although his tattooed, bad boy exterior is a far cry from Lila's pretty princess image, Ethan can't deny they have a deeper connection than he's used to. If he's not careful, he could be in serious danger of becoming attached-and he's learned the hard way that attachment only leads to heartbreak.

When Lila falls farther than she ever has before, can Ethan continue to help as a friend? Or is he also getting close to falling . . . for her?

My review:  5 stars!!

Okay.  So, I'm a HUGE fan of Jessica Sorensen.  I could not wait for this book.  I liked Lila a lot in Ella's story because they were such good friends and I knew there was a story behind Lila's pretty facade!

This story is so good.  It's about friends and then turning into more than friends.  Lila has a very ugly past that she has been taught to hide behind, with prescription drugs.  She watched her mother do it for years and thought that was the way of the world.  She's hiding behind drugs rather than facing the pain.  It blows up in her face and does not end well.

Ethan has a different past, but not unlike Lila's.  He did drugs for years while growing up.  He decided to stop when the girl he was dating, London, decided she was going to do harder drugs, like heroin.  That did not end well for her and Ethan paid the price.  He lived with the guilt of that day and the consequences surrounding it.  He decided from that day forward, he would not let drugs run his life and it was time to stop and grow up.

He finds out Lila is using and decides to step in (well, she doesn't really leave him a choice, something bad happens).  He helps her learn to live without the drugs and helps her through some really tough times.  He is her best friend (besides Ella, but she's with Micha now and isn't around much).

What happens next?  I can't say.  I don't want to ruin the ending.  Just know that it's good.  And I can't wait for the next Ella and Micha book because it's going to be GREAT!!!!

Happy reading!

Finding Cinderella: A Novella by Colleen Hoover

Finding Cinderella by Collen Hoover

Book Synopsis:  This novella is a companion novel to the Hopeless series, but can be read as a standalone.

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

My review:  4 stars!!!

I loved the Hopeless book, so I was super exicted to get this book and read it.  And it was FREE, which it deserves more credit than that.  But, Ms. Hoover decided to give her fans a short novella for free, just because she loves us.  And let me tell you, it was VERY GOOD.

I am a mother and this book pulled at my heart strings and I laughed and cried.  I loved Six from the Hopeless books and couldn't wait to hear her story.  She is Sky's best friend and has quite the reputation.

I didn't remember much about Daniel, but the big point is, that he is Holder's best friend.  So, that's pretty much all I can say, without giving away the story.

Just know that it was good, in total Colleen Hoover fashion.  Her books do not disappoint.  You will be happy, sad and truly touched by this book.  I loved it.

Happy reading!!

My review:  5 stars!!!
Okay.  So, this book is a continuation from the first one (and yes, there is a third book, not published yet).  This book picks up right where the first one finished.  And you will need the second book right away, because as usual, the books end in cliffhangers!!!
This book was just as good as the first!!  I loved, loved, loved it.  Hudson and Alayna are HOT together.  Whew!  I needed a lot of things after reading this book, not least of which was a fan!!  Now if I remember correctly, you see a little about Celia in the first book.  You see a lot of her in this second book.  And let me warn you . . . she's EVIL!!  I was literally screaming at the Kindle.  I hated her and I hated that Alayna trusted her.  NOTE:  Never ever trust the ex-girlfriend.  So, some bad things happen.  Alayna gets burned, Hudson does some regretable things.  Just in general, things go badly . . . at first.

Okay.  Enough.  I won't go any further.  I don't want to ruin the ending!!  Just go buy this book.  Well, buy the first one first.  But, have this on your Kindle at the ready.  You won't want to stop reading to go and buy it.

Thanks.  The End.

Happy reading!!

My review:  5 stars!!!!

I read reviews on most books before I buy them.  So, this book was no different.  I liked to cover from the very beginning.  It grabbed my attention right away!!  Right?!?!  Who doesn't love this cover?!?!  I mean, it's the epitmoe of sexy!!  I love covers like this.

I started this book with open eyes and an open heart.  I try to give every book the same respect and my undivided attention.  I believe that if the author is going to spend the time to write a book and pur their heart into it, I will at least have the courtsey to devote my time and attention to it and let the book lead me through it.  I try to read during the time of day with the least amount of interruption, e.g. after my daughter is in bed, etc.  I do not like being rushed and I like being able to put the book down at the end of a chapter.  I do not like stopping in the middle of it.  It's actually kind of an OCD thing about me.  I'm one of those, "Just one more chapters, please, " kind of girl!!  (I really like chapter markers in the eBooks.  That way I know how long the chapter will be and if I can get, just one more chapter in.

So, enough about that.  This book sucked me in!!  I loved it from almost the very first page!!  I liked Alayna a lot.  She has a good head on her shoulders.  I love that she is an accomplished woman.  I wish I had gotten my Masters, but I disgress.  She spent the time and money on accomplishing that goal and who wouldn't be proud of her.  She's one of my favorite female characters, for many reasons.  She falls in love too quickly and has a hard time letting go.  (I have a very large heart and tend to give it away, more often than I should, I'm afraid.  I have such a kind heart and I find myself getting hurt sometimes.  I have grown a lot and have learned how to control it.  So, I sympathize with Alayna.  I know what it's like girl!!)  Alayna has learned to control it too, but her way of control is just have meaningless sex with strangers (or out of towners) and while that seems to work for her, I'm afraid it doesn't last.  She sometimes dates the club's manager, which is bad.  Then the club is sold.  To none other than Hudson Pierce . . .

In walks the devastingly handsome, sexy as sin, Hudson.  Alayna has no idea who he is at first.  And she's not very nice to him at first.  Which is kind of funny actually!!  He's rich, he's powerful, he's demanding, and he's got a hidden and dangerous past.  He hurts women for sport.  He makes them fall in love with him and then crush their dreams and hearts!  Alayna does not want to get involved with him because she knows she falls in love fast and she knows that Hudson is dangerous, because she could/does fall in love with him.  What's a girl to do?

No more, I won't give away any more details!!!!  GO GET THIS BOOK.  You will love it.

Happy reading!!

My review:  5 stars!!!

Okay.  So, I found this book on Goodreads a while ago.  And we kept pushing the book, further and further back.  I think the author had some things going on and fell a little behind.  I am not faulting her at all.  And I'm not mad at all.  I just anticipated this book for quite a while.  I bought the book as soon as it was released.  I had it on my Kindle for a few days before starting it.  And here's why:  I was afraid that in my head, I had built this book up to be something so grand and I was afraid the book my fall short of my grandiose expectations.  And maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is Holly Carter's first book.  But, boy, was I ever WRONG!!!  I did not really know what to expect from this book.  While the book synopsis tells you the basis storyline, it doesn't go into great detail.

So, I start the book.  I was scared, I'll admit.  In the beginning of the book, it talks about Kat.  She is a mistress at her club.  She's abusive, angry and smart mouthed.  She does not take orders or even follow rules.  She's above it all.  She doesn't just step on toes, she runs over people and doesn't care who is left in the wake.  At first, I didn't know what to think about Kat.  I immediately didn't like her.  She's so mean.  The opposite of me and I couldn't grasp the amount of anger she kept bottled up.  I was surprised how much I didn't like her.

Then she got sent away to be the submissive of Hunter.  She didn't change much at first.  He didn't make punish her like to imagined.  He wasn't as hard and cold as I thought either.  You don't really know where the turning point was in this book.  It's just as though Hunter and Kat just grow together.  It wasn't like a light bulb moment and they realize they love each other and can't be without the other.  It's as if initially they hate each other so much they don't even realize how much they care, until it's too late.

I won't ruin the end of the story, because it's a BIG one.  It does end in a cliffhanger, which I assume will continue into the next book.  I'm not sure when the second book is coming out, but I, for one, can not wait until its release, I think it's going to be GREAT!!!!

This is a fantastic book.  I could not put it down.  It was happy, sad and everything in between.  Go out, get your copy ASAP.  You won't regret it.

Happy reading!!

My review:  5 stars!!!

I bought this book solely based on the reviews.  It was $0.99.  And honestly, you almost can't pass up a book for that price!  So, I take a lot of chances when one-clicking!!

However, this book was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!  I loved it.  I mean, couldn't put the book down and stayed up all night reading, loved it.  It ends on a HUGE cliffhanger.  I absolutely can not wait for the next one.

Okay, so the story goes . . . something happened (we don't really know what yet), but Lara has to leave everything she's ever known.  She has a handler, that she's never met.  But he takes care of everything, and she just up and moves when he says too.  She was finally comfortable in her life and was making friends and working.  Then all of a sudden, her handler writes her a note, and she is instructed to leave immediately.

She waffles a little and doesn't really want to go.  But, in the end, common sense wins and she leaves.  She gets to the airport, with her new identity and checks in for her flight.  The flight is booked and she gets on stand-by.  While she's waiting, she sees Liam.  (Who doesn't love the name Liam?!?!)  She is drawn to him immediately.  But doesn't know why.  Her ticket gets upgraded to first-class, by none other than Liam, and she gets to sit by him the whole flight.  This is bad news for her though.  She's supposed to blend win with her surroundings and remain to herself (for protection from whatever she's running from), but how do you do that when this very attractive man wants to know everything about you?!

Well, I won't go into detail too much from this point, just know that Liam does not like the word "No."  In fact, I'm not sure he even knows what it means.  He is rich, powerful, and extremely good-looking.  He doesn't get told No, very often.  So, he is very unfamiliar with that word.  So, when Amy says No, it doesn't mean much to him.  I wish I had a Liam in my life.  Hehe.

Go, get this book NOW!!  You will not regret it.  It is worth its expense in gold!  Hurry up November 11 (I think that's when the second book is released).

Good luck.  Happy reading!!!

My review:  4 stars!!!

I loved this series from the very beginning.   And Gabe, in fact, is my favorite band member.  There is just something about the bad boy with the multi-colored mohawk and the physics thing that gets my  blood pumping!!!  :-)

So, as you already know from his first book, Gabe is an inventor.  He invents sex toys.  And just let me tell you . . . if he needs a test subject . . . I am volunteering!!  Hehehe.  I am still scared about the Lindsay baby scandal.  I really hope that Gabe is not involved.  I actually wish none of the boys are involved, but, I guess that ship has sailed.

Go get this book.  It's a fun read!!  You will not be disappointed.  Just remember the reading order and this book has a third installment.  To come out at some point in the future!!

Thanks and Happy Reading!!

My review:  5 stars!!!

I loved this series.  It was so good.  As you can see from the other reviews in this series, I re-read the whole series to prepare for this last book.

It was just as good as I expected it to be.  This book takes you through a really hard time in the relationship of Christian and Elizabeth.  It was so hard to read about.  It's gut wrenching.  I cried more than I laughed.  However, it does not take away from the story.  Just be prepared to cried while reading this book.

I loved the way it ended and I am so happy I re-read the series.  It made everything fresh in my mind and was worth the time.

I recommend this series!!  You will not be disappointed.

Happy reading!!!

(Take this Regret, #0.5)

Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I’d never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She’s worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father’s law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison’s only option.

My review:  5 stars!!!

I read the two books above many months ago.  The third book just released and I wanted to re-read the books again.

I loved the books the first time I read them.  They sucked me right in and made me lose a lot of sleep!  I was not disappointed a second time. I remembered the story, but forgot a lot of the small details.  So, in order to go into the last book (If Forever Comes), I wanted to make sure the books were fresh in my mind.

I loved this series.  It was very happy to read this series again.  I still laughed and cried at all of the important parts.  Even though I knew the ending, I was still very happy with the ending.

This is a great series.  I promise you will not be disappointed.  Just read it!!

Then read the last book.

Happy reading.

My review:  5 stars!!!!

I loved this book.  I really, really, really loved it.  I started this book immediately after finishing the first book.  The two books are seamlessly put together.  One leads you right into the other.  This was my first series by Gail McHugh and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for her books!!  She is an amazing author.

Let's just say in advance, you will hate and I mean HATE Dillon.  He is not a nice man.  I can't believe the things he did to Emily.

I really hate giving spoilers in my review, so I will keep this review short.  Just go buy the book.  It's a page turner, I didn't want to eat, sleep, or work because I wanted/needed to know what happened next.  It was definitely a "just one more chapter" book.

Go get this one!!  You will love it.

Happy reading!!!

My review:  5 stars!!!

This book sucked me right in.  OMG!!!  I loved it.

Emily moved to New York to be with her boyfriend, Dillon.  She just lost her mother, even though their relationship was strained, she was still her mother and her death left a void in her life.  Just for the record, I disliked Dillon from the very second.  You soon find out that he is cheating on Emily although she doesn't know it.  He is the worst kind of man and I wished Emily would catch him.  I really wished she would punch him out and drop his ass.  But I digress.  That doesn't happen.

Upon moving to New York with Dillon, and while waiting on a teaching job, Emily gets a job at a restaurant.  Delivering food to a local building, she runs into Gavin.  She just so happens to be delivering food to him.  Coincidence . . . I think not.

Emily feels a pull to him instantly.  As does Gavin.

Needless to say, the road to happiness is a very long road.  It has many twists and turns and many road bumps and maybe even a few potholes.  I'm not saying it was easy.  I laughed, and cried and actually yelled at the Kindle.  I was so very mad at Emily, I was even mad at Gavin.

I had already purchased the second book, and I immediately got into it.  I couldn't wait to find out the rest of the story!!

Go out and read this book!!  It's so worth it.

Happy reading!!

My review:  2 stars!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I bought this book because it was free.  Now, just for the record, not all free books are good and not all are bad.  This one was in-between.  I decided t0 read it because it was a standalone novel.  I was tired of reading a series, only to have it continue later on.  I was having to read a series, then re-read a series because a second or third book was coming out.  So, this one was all by it's lonesome.  I read it, I did.

Now, suffice it to say that I liked the book enough to finish it.  At first I was lost and wondered why I just felt I must finish the book.  I am not a mean person, I do not like saying bad things about anything really.  But, I just could not get into this book.

It was a cute read.  I liked the way it finished.  I was not drawn into the book.  It did not hook me from the first page.

If it was free again, I would read it.  But, I'm not sure if I would pay money to read the book, if given the choice.  I'm sorry readers, my first "not good review."  Sorry, Stephanie Nicole, just not my cup of tea!

On to the next one . . . Happy reading!!

My review:  4 stars!!

OMG!!!  I loved this book just as much as the first one.  I can't believe the cliffhanger ending!!

I cannot wait to find out what happens inthe next book.  I think it's coming out sometime in February 2014.

This book was Kylie going on tour.  You will NEVER believe who shows up being the co-headliners on the tour!!  OMG!!

I'm pretty sure I cried in this book.  It's just so emotional and pulls you right in.  One minute I was laughing and having a good time and the next I was crying.  I love that about books.  The way they make you feel the emotions of the characters.

I would definitely recommend this book.  Now, I can't wait for the third and final book!!

Happy reading.

Girl With Guitar by Caisey Quinn

Girl With Guitar by Caisey Quinn
(Book #1)

Book Synopsis:  After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy step-mother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. My review:  4 stars!!

I really liked this book.  I thought it was well written and I live in Nashville, who doesn't like a book about the town you live in!!  I bought this book because of the reviews and it was $0.99!!  I love books under a $1.

I liked Kylie right away.  She's a little feisty.  She moves to Nashville with little to no money to pursue her dream.  Right away she meets Trace and puts him in his place (which I loved about her).  She has comebacks for everything and does not let people (especially Trace) run all over her!!

Trace is a drinking, hates live, loves music, kind of guy.  He doesn't like being on the road.  He drinks way too much and flakes out on performing, etc.  He's a bad boy who seems to have some problems committing, to well, anything really.  He can't commit to his job.  He can't commit to girls.  He's just a mess.  And Kylie is having none of it!!

She pretty much tells him where he can stick it.  She thinks he is taking advantage of the talent he was given and shows him he can be better.  I loved Kylie!!

I couldn't wait to finish this book and read the second book.  I read, in fact, both books in one weekend!!

This was a great read.  I loved the story, it was a little different storyline.  But great writing (my first book by Caisey Quinn, in fact).  I would definitely recommend this book.

Happy reading!!
